“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.”
— Jonathan Swift
The main body of my work is based around Plymouth Sound, looking out and recording the changing weather across the water from Cornwall towards Devon. My practice begins with making notes, writing observations and making drawings in my journals, these are then used to develop paintings in the studio. I try to convey the connection I have with the sea at that moment. I describe my works as windows upon the sea. My work is a record of a moment in time, a memory or an expression of a place I know intimately.
